Read to Children
Volunteers needed at WIC Food Centers throughout the city. Read to children while their parents shop. Help instill the love of books and learning in young children.
What do I need to do? Contact the WIC Food Center, and tell them you'd like to volunteer your time. They will set up a time for you to come in for an orientation, and schedule times for you to volunteer.
What is the commitment? You can try this one time, or you can volunteer a different times during the year.
Where are the WIC Food Centers? There are several throughout the city, the 3 below are on the Southside. (For a full listing, see Mrs. Kroll in Room 197).

2. 2400 S. Kedzie Avenue, 773-522-7220 (10:00 am to 6:00 pm Mon-Fri.) No weekend hours.
3. 6202 S. Halsted Street, 773-488-9096 (Call for hours.)
