The Advanced Placement Program in the United States History is designed to provide students with the analytic skills and factual knowledge necessary to deal critically with the problems and materials in United States history. The course prepares students for intermediate and advanced college courses by making demands upon them equivalent to those made by full-year introductory college courses. Students should learn to assess historical materials—their relevance to a given interpretive problem, their reliability, and their importance—and to weigh the evidence and interpretations presented in historical scholarship.

This site is designed to aid students in their coursework and test preparation for AP US History. While it cannot replace instruction in class and assigned readings, it does provide supplemental material that students and teachers will find useful and enriching.

We hope that this site will provide a framework to help organize your studies and bring the study of history alive.
