Curriculum

 

The MCJROTC course title is “Leadership Education” 

There are four levels of instructions: 

Level I – 1st year cadets
Level II – 2nd year cadets
Level III – 3rd year cadets
Level IV – 4th year cadets 

There are 5 subjects’ areas in MCJROTC (units of instructions) 

  1. Leadership

  2. Citizenship

  3. Personal Growth and Responsibility

  4. Public Service and Career Exploration

  5. General Military Subjects

 
 
  Level I
  • This course includes classroom instruction and practical application of the basic tasks included in initial training required for first year Marine Corps JROTC cadets.

  • Lays the foundation for the following Leadership education course by teaching the basics of leadership, citizenship, personal growth and responsibility, career exploration, and general military subjects.

  • The performance standards of this course are based on the performance standards identified in the course for Marine Corps JROTC.

  • Successful completion of at least three units of credit in the Marine Corps JROTC program qualify the student for advanced placement in a college ROTC program or accelerated promotion in the military services.

Level II

  • This course includes classroom instruction and practical application of the basic tasks included in initial training required for second year Marine Corps JROTC cadets.

  • This course builds on the foundations of Leadership I in the subjects of leadership, citizenship, personal growth and responsibility, career exploration, and general military subjects.

  • The performance standards of this course are based on the performance standards identified in the course for Marine Corps JROTC.

  • Successful completion of at least three units of credit in the Marine Corps JROTC program qualify the student for advanced placement in a college ROTC program or accelerated promotion in the military services.

Level III

  • This course includes classroom instruction and practical application of the basic tasks included in initial training required for third year Marine Corps JROTC cadets.

  • This course builds on the foundations of Leadership I and Leadership II in the subjects of leadership, citizenship, personal growth and responsibility, career exploration, and general military subjects.

  • The performance standards of this course are based on the performance standards identified in the course for Marine Corps JROTC.

  • Successful completion of at least three units of credit in the Marine Corps JROTC program qualify the student for advanced placement in a college ROTC program or accelerated promotion in the military services.

Level IV

  • This course includes classroom instruction and practical application of the basic tasks included in initial training required for fourth year Marine Corps JROTC cadets.

  • This course emphasizes the application of the preceding three courses of Leadership Education by preparing the cadet for assuming his or her place as an informed and responsible citizen in United States society who is able to lead others effectively.

  • The performance standards of this course are based on the performance standards identified in the course for Marine Corps JROTC.

  • Successful completion of at least three units of credit in the Marine Corps JROTC program qualify the student for advanced placement in a college ROTC program or accelerated promotion in the military services.
