MCJROTC Creed

 

It is my destiny to serve with pride but also with humility. It is mytrust to be able to handle a crisis when one occurs. It is my duty to constantly give all that I have for my country, community, and Corps. It is my obligation to obey the orders and regulations of the Corps and school authorities. I shall take no action which could bring discredit to the Corps, to my school, or myself.

General Orders

 

  1. To take charge of this post and all government property in view.

  2. To walk my post in a military manner keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.

  3. To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.

  4. To repeat all calls from post more distant to the guard house than my own.

  5. To quit my post only when properly relieved.

  6. To receive, obey, and pass on to the sentry who relieves me, all orders from the Commanding Officer, Officer of the day, and officers and non-commissioned officers of the guard only.

  7. To talk to no one except in the line of duty.

  8. To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.

  9. To call the Corporal of the guard in any case not covered by instructions.

  10. To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.

  11. To be especially watchful at night and during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post, and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

  1. Know yourself and seek self-improvement.

  2. Be technically and tactically proficient.

  3. Know your subordinates and look out for their welfare.

  4. Keep your subordinates informed.

  5. Set the example.

  6. Insure that the task is understood, supervised, and accomplished.

  7. Train your subordinates as a team.

  8. Make sound and timely decisions.

  9. Develop a sense of responsibility in your subordinates.

  10. Employ your command in accordance with it’s capabilities.

  11. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.

 

Leadership Traits

  

  1. Integrity – Truthfulness and Honesty.

  2. Knowledge – Know your job, your subordinates, and yourself.

  3. Courage – Calm and firm in the face of criticism.

  4. Decisiveness – Ability to make prompt decisions.

  5. Dependability – Certainty of performance.

  6. Initiative – Taking action in the absence of others.

  7. Tact – Dealing with others respectfully.

  8. Justice – Impartial in giving rewards and punishment.

  9. Enthusiasm – Displaying sincere interest and zeal.

  10. Bearing – Appearance and conduct.

  11. Endurance – Mental and physical stamina

  12. Unselfishness – Placing others ahead of yourself.

  13. Loyalty – Faithfulness to county, school, family, leaders, etc.

  14. Judgment – Weighing facts, solutions, and alternatives.
