Honors IB MYP ART

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a philosophy of teaching and an approach to instruction. Students in the MYP explore significant content, develop skills, and deepen conceptual understanding through their engagement with global contexts. This introductory level visual arts course is a high school graduaton requirement for all CPS students. Students will create both two and three-dimensional artwork using a variety of media, learn about diferent artists, engage in art criticism and aesthetic discussions, and investigate career opportunites in the arts. Partcipants will read and write in additon to creating and completing artworks. Each student is required to explore and document ideas within a developmental workbook or process journal.
