About Ms. Labno

All about me!
 
I was born and raised in Chicago. I am a Mexican-American. I am a Mom of 2 children. I've been working at Curie High School for over 21 years now. I used to sponsor Latino's Junto's. I also participated in the Chicano Bowl Competition (2004-2014). I won multiple awards as well like Teacher of the Year in 2006, and Service Learning Teacher Award in 2009. Lastly I teach Spanish for Heritage speakers level 1 and 2. I also teach AP Spanish Literature and Culture!
 
My Education
 
I graduated in the of 1997 in Curie. I started off my education in the University of Illinois in Chicago. I accomplished to get my Bachelors degree in teaching in Spanish. I went on to get my Masters degree in Spanish Literature at Saint Louis University(Madrid Campus).

Spanish For Heritage Speakers:

In this class, I teach multiple students about the importance of Spanish speaking from many years ago. I also share out stories from various famous Spanish leaders and people!
