call everyone today we're going how to use Google forms for assessment so couple things how do we get into Google forms go up in the top right-hand corner when I click on the Google apps icon the Grid or what I tell my waffle if you scroll down you will find the Google forms app provided to his bike Google for we are in our Drive on the left hand side you'll Steve cab entitled new leaf look on his Tab and then click select more you'll see Google forms as an option before we do that what I want to do is make sure we create a folder just so that were able to find all of our Google p*** so I actually already created a folder and I entitled my folder Google forms so I open up my folder going to go back to the new go to more and I'm going to select the Google forms so what do you think that's very important for us to make sure that we do is we want to make sure that we title our form so I think she already started a Google form already so I'm just going to take a lot of information from that right and you have two options you could go ahead and start the title here or up the top left you could also put in him title as well corn description this is unit 2 assessment and a couple of things that are very important creating a Google form for me is the following I want to make sure that my Google form has option for my students offenser to last name first name ID Amber and then date so we go ahead and do that now horses the last name questions going to be a short answer I'm going to make sure I saw electric wire I'm going to go ahead and do that and change the last of first go ahead and add another one and I will go ahead and put the ID number then this one will be and also let's make sure we don't forgive you want to make sure we we ask for the. Of the class going to be very important and again we have different options on Google form short answer paragraph answer multiple-choice checks boxes drop down and so forth I'm a supply drop down and it will be second then. noticed there's this this is a little while setting icon here go ahead and click on that you'll select quizzes I want to make this a quiz now this right here was does lock mode on Chromebooks turn on lock this just allows his students this will allow students to actually take the quiz or actually the opposite so soon as going to be allowed to take the quiz me personally things that I do is once if I do give it a deadline to take the quiz I'll go ahead and lock it on my own otherwise I won't necessarily uses but one thing that I do recommend is immediately after each submission release the parade one thing I don't do is provide them with the correct answers only because in case they did not in case of student do not do as well as they like and want to retake assessment so they're allowed to see what questions they missed and the point values so that's one of the things I do make sure that I have on my Google form so I'm going to quick save I'll go back up to the settings option to just let we go over something as well another thing that's important to me is I want to collect email address right I might want to make sure I know who is submitting this assessment and what email is that coming from another thing that I make sure I check off is you click here on the presentations icon I want to be sure Dad they have the option to submit another response but this confirmation message is also something else that we can go ahead and use as well once and the student will see this as once they have waited redshift completed the quiz enjoy the rest of your day save alright so now you notice that when we actually went to the settings icon went to quizzes and made this a quiz this down here actually popped up and it says answer key if I can click on answer key now I am I'm do two things I need to make sure I sign point value depending on what again this is a preference I'm just going to put one point and then I am to selecting the correct answer what is 2 + 2 selected to answer again make sure you select the correct answer you could possibly select the wrong answer and this will grade everything incorrectly so make sure you select the correct answer based on the questions geared towards your content so I'm going to put done all right so I have a question here ready another way for me to add questions again I could just duplicate this right here and I is only one answer otherwise it will be difficult review to use Google forms as an assessment or paragraph or short answer questions there's only one answer to the question you're asking is totally different but otherwise Google forms for assessment is a lot more from there when were using multiple choice check boxes or drop down another thing that's very important to know is transitioning some of these assessments that we may only have an image or a PDF file log a lot of the times we can go ahead and recite all the questions some of the times while we can also do he's just make sure that we add the image of our document I went ahead and actually looked up of Fire I think it's on some addition questions okay so I'mma go ahead and pick go to upload browse Orbitz on my Google Drive I go ahead and couldn't go to my Google Drive this case is documents on my desktop from go ahead and put open and I'm just going to let the students know please for them to use this image for the following questions please use this image for the following Washington my Quicken add question and I question number one and then as opposed to as opposed to rewriting all the questions the only thing that I I go back to my answer key and we're done here all right so this is pretty much this pretty much gives you an idea of how to grade some multiple choice questions and kind of embed your assessments using Google forms now for you to look at the responses and actually let me go back to the one I previously created cuz I've actually already inputted some response for you to access your responses you would just click up here and you would click on this spreadsheet icon read and you will receive all the information from his students let me show you what it looks like using the other Google form right so I actually took the time to submit some some of some of those assessments already and one of the things that I want you to make me I want you to look at is this so can I have the email address from the student who took the assessment I have the scores right here last name first name ID number would be here bright and then the date Gwinnett to go students of the assessment but more importantly I have the class. But I would be able to filter by the last name making it easier for me to grade it and put all my grades into Aspen all right so can you could go ahead and click on view responses in Google sheet but if you also click on responses and scroll down you'll see some of the responses to the questions who actually submitted the acceptance and you can look at each question to each question dealer or you can go ahead and look at the individual submitted the assessment write another thing that's very and you need to know is if we collect quick up here at the send button if you wanted to add this to your Google classroom you would go ahead and do is click in This Blink button here to give you a link which you can copy I would go ahead and click copy I can go to Google Classroom I have it open I'll go ahead and click on ADD face to link and all my students would be able to view that link from Google classroom and it would take him directly to the Google form okay so that's one way of making sure to eat do it it is given the opportunity to take that assessment another thing that is also important up here at the top this little highball is a preview button all right you'll be able to see exactly what the students would be looking at all right and you noticed I can go ahead and input all the information and once I submit notice that I go ahead and get that little a message that we posted earlier and it just says thank you for taking the quiz enjoy the rest of your day I can click on view school and I will be able to see what questions I got incorrect if you are going to be letting your students take the assessment multiple times then they can go ahead and submit another response the hopefully increase their score if you have any additional questions I'll see you guys tomorrow
