Chorus

Beginning Mixed Chorus:

This course is the entry-level choir course. Students will learn the fundamentals of proper vocal techniques; Students will be introduced to reading sheet music and choral octavos; Students will begin to develop rhythm and pitch reading abilities, sight-singing skills, and using solfege; Basic music theory concepts will be introduced. No previous experience or audition required.

 

Intermediate Mixed Chorus:

This course is the intermediate choir course. Students who wish to continue studying choral music beyond beginner level should register for this course. Performance opportunities will become available based on proficiency. As a prerequisite to take this course, a student must have successfully completed Beginning Mixed Chorus and/or have Teacher Recommendation based on audition.


Chamber Singers:

This course is designed for advanced vocal musicians who have extensive experience in performing mixed-voice choral music. Students must: Participate in Solo and Ensemble, and full choir performances at the school and in the community; and participate in all other performances. As a prerequisite to take this course, students must have successfully completed Beginning Mixed Chorus or Intermediate Mixed Chorus and receive a Teacher Recommendation based on audition.
